Dr. Gabriel Cyrille Nguijoi

Dr. Gabriel Cyrille Nguijoi is a Political Science scholar specialising in security studies, governance, intelligence cooperation, and African geopolitical transformations. With over ten years of experience in applied and policy research, his work bridges African and global security architectures, focusing on hybrid governance, transnational threats, and resilience systems. He has made significant contributions to discussions on security in Africa, particularly on the role of intelligence cooperation in combating terrorism, and para-terrorism addressing complex security challenges across the continent.

Dr. Nguijoi holds a Ph.D. in Political Science (International Relations) from the University of Yaoundé II, where his dissertation focused on intelligence cooperation in the fight against terrorist threats in Africa, case studying the RIFU in the Lake Chad Basin region. Currently, he serves as a Research Officer at the National Mapping (Cartography) Research Institute (NIC), part of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation (MINRESI) in Cameroon; a Research Associate/Consultant at the African Centre for the Study of the United States at the Wits University in South Africa; and a Lecturer at the Cameroonian Institute of Diplomatic and Strategic Studies (ICEDIS). In these roles, he teaches courses in international relations, security studies, and diplomacy, while mentoring students and early-career scholars.

From 2018 to present, Dr Nguijoi has been part of institutional research on governance, security, and data mapping, working to enhance policy design and support the development of sustainable governance frameworks.

Dr. Nguijoi is actively involved in research publications and has contributed to several peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of prominent professional organizations, including the European Centre for Populism Studies (ECPS), Research Academic in Urban Planning and Environmental Law, and the Cameroonian Community of Political Science Association. His research and academic work continue to influence the understanding and development of security governance and intelligence cooperation in Africa.
