Mr. Saron holds an MSc. in Security Studies (Cybersecurity and Counter Terrorism) from the Pan African Institute for Development West Africa (PAID-WA), PGD in Criminology and Security Management (PAID-WA), A Certified Cyber Criminologist at the Applied Criminology Network International Academy in Abuja-Nigeria and a Certified Public Policy Analyst at the Nkafu Policy Institute Yaoundé- Cameroon. Dr. Nguijoi holds a Ph.D. in Political Science (International Relations) from the University of Yaoundé II, where his dissertation focused on intelligence cooperation in the fight against terrorist threats in Africa, case studying the RIFU in the Lake Chad Basin region. Currently, he serves as a Research Officer at the National Mapping (Cartography) Research Institute (NIC), part of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation (MINRESI) in Cameroon; a Research Associate/Consultant at the African Centre for the Study of the United States at the Wits University in South Africa; and a Lecturer at the Cameroonian Institute of Diplomatic and Strategic Studies (ICEDIS). In these roles, he teaches courses in international relations, security studies, and diplomacy, while mentoring students and early-career scholars.

From 2018 to present, Dr Nguijoi has been part of institutional research on governance, security, and data mapping, working to enhance policy design and support the development of sustainable governance frameworks.

Dr. Nguijoi is actively involved in research publications and has contributed to several peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of prominent professional organizations, including the European Centre for Populism Studies (ECPS), Research Academic in Urban Planning and Environmental Law, and the Cameroonian Community of Political Science Association. His research and academic work continue to influence the understanding and development of security governance and intelligence cooperation in Africa.

 

Adiang Afounga Thelma Therese

Adiang Afounga Thelma Therese is communication fellow specializing in diplomatic communication, cyber security reporting, cyber diplomacy advocacy, public relations and media management. With more than six years of experience working with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) as a Communication and Reporting Assistant at the Buea Field Office in the South-West Region of Cameroon. She is a dynamic communicator with strong track record in developing impactful communication strategies, success stories, and visibility enhancement especially within the milieu of cyber diplomacy. Her desire to learn and expand her professional horizon has enabled her to venture into other career fields like gender and protection, prevention against sexual exploitation and abuse and gender-based violence prevention with the United Nations. Thelma Adiang is currently enrolled in a six-month intensive training course on Child Protection at the Institute for Professional Training in Humanitarian Studies. As a Legal Advisor for Intelligence Security Solutions (ISS), the principal focus is forging policy at the convergence of Cyber Law, Data Protection, Fintech Regulation, and AI Governance within the global cybersecurity landscape. Providing critical legal foresight to the think tank’s research, ensuring that innovation in cybersecurity and AI is guided by principles of human rights, international cooperation, and regulatory compliance, particularly across the African and European spheres. Tina’s expertise is built on a deep understanding of transnational legal frameworks, enabling ISS to interpret and apply law to fast-evolving technologies, by formulating compliance strategies under the African Union’s Malabo Convention on Cybersecurity and Personal Data Protection, as well as European models (GDPR relevance for cross-border data transfers). In the milieu of Fintech and AI Regulation, projects on the legal permissibility of AI-driven financial services, drafting risk-mitigation policies for algorithmic transparency and consumer protection in the burgeoning African Fintech sector. She has a mastery of international dispute resolution and criminal procedure, which is applied to analyzing jurisdictional gaps in combating transnational cybercrime and supporting efforts in cyber diplomacy.

Tina continue to undergo advanced training in international legal mechanisms and cross-border conflict resolution which provides a crucial analytical lens for policy work in cyber diplomacy and security governance. She has equally negotiated and drafted complex Master Service Agreements and partnership contracts for technology and infrastructure clients, embedding strong data security, breach notification, and liability clauses to manage cyber risks contractually. She has written several research papers on cybersecurity and human rights; ‘Child Pornography and New Technologies in Cameroon’ and ‘Key features of Cameroon’s new data protection law’.
